For the thirteenth year in succession Cormar Carpet Company is delighted to have been voted the UK’s Best Carpet Manufacturer by readers of Interiors Monthly.
Receiving the award again is a great privilege and we would like to say a huge thank you to all our customers, suppliers and colleagues for their ongoing support over the past year.
We have been manufacturing carpet in the UK for more than 65 years from our mills in Lancashire. Built on strong family values and a forward-thinking mindset, we have continued to innovate, evolve, and invest in the future – delivering exceptional quality, service, and growth across the carpet sector.
Over the past 12 months, five new ranges have been launched into the market, including Zenith – a heavyweight twist carpet created using exclusive new Ultralux polypropylene. Since its launch, Zenith has proven to be a great success, quickly becoming a firm favourite within the trade thanks to its luxurious finish and outstanding performance. Two of our popular ranges from our Easy Clean collection, Primo Naturals and Primo Plus, have also been relaunched with fresh, on-trend colour palettes to meet evolving customer preferences.
Another service enhancement is our award-winning Trade Portal. Since its launch in 2011, the online portal has gone from strength to strength with over 68% of customers now placing orders via the service. In the past year, the Portal has continued to benefit from ongoing enhancements aimed at improving user experience. More than £100,000 has been invested in various developments, including improvements to our industry-leading after-sales area.
To further elevate service levels, we have made another substantial investment towards our fleet of distribution vehicles. Equipped with the latest technology and safety features, this investment ensures we maintain our high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
In addition to our delivery fleet, there has been continued investment in our manufacturing processes. Significant quality benefits have been achieved following investments in both Tufting and Backing this year. These initiatives reflect our long-term thinking and commitment to operational excellence and improving the customer experience.
Sustainability continues to play a central role at Cormar. Over the past year, we have partnered with Innovate Recycle to become the first major carpet manufacturer to achieve full certification for recyclable polypropylene carpet ranges. To date, more than 175 tonnes of Cormar carpets have been diverted from landfill and repurposed into useful plastic products – a significant step forward in supporting a more circular economy within the flooring industry.
