Stylist Melinda Ashton Turner recently styled a contemporary living room scheme using Cormar Primo Tweeds, drawing upon current interior trends. Melinda said: “For tips on how to start a scheme, have a look at what you already have in the room and decide which pieces you want to incorporate into the new interior scheme. Bring out your inner stylist and play around with what you currently have at home to pull a room together.
“Look at ways to upcycle or refresh furniture by repainting or sanding it. Small touches, such as changing soft furnishings and introducing accessories, can make a huge difference to a room.
“Changing your flooring can have a dramatic impact on a room, really refreshing the look and feel. A new carpet can transform a room and with a good underlay you can enjoy creating comfort and warmth underfoot.
“In the following scheme I used a primary colour palette of grey and pink and added colour pops of green and black to add interest. A neutral carpet is a great choice as it has longevity and as this carpet is so hard wearing it means you can change up the décor and keep your carpet for many years.”
