My husband and I moved into our current home in 2005, it was only 4 years old at the time so essentially was a new build property. It was perfect for us in terms of space and room size, particularly as our family grew, but definitely needed some character and my own personal touch adding to it.
Over the years we have redecorated various rooms, many times, but the one thing that hasn’t changed is that we have always had Cormar Carpets. We had a cream wool twist carpet initially and then changed that to a slightly darker grey tone carpet from the Home Counties range in 2015.
I have always loved the quality of Cormar Carpets, I find they clean well and wear amazingly well over time, so it was an easy decision for me to return to the brand again this year when we decided to update our carpets to a lighter more neutral colour.
I always use the same carpet throughout my entire home to create a cohesive and streamlined look. So I set about looking at carpet samples that had a neutral, modern feel and would work in every room regardless of the various decor, but one that will also stand the test of time.
I decided to try an alternative look to the standard wool twist carpet that we had previously, and was drawn to the Malabar Two Fold range - a gorgeous 100% wool loop carpet in a choice of beautiful neutrals. I opted for the colour Flagstone, as it was that perfect greige tone, not too cream and not too grey. I also had a section of the carpet whipped with a striking black edging and used this as a stair runner.
