Title: Backing Plant Operative

Reports to: Operations Supervisor

Based at: Brookhouse Mill

Hours per week: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Sunday – Thursday, 10pm-6am

Main Duties: Contribute to the effective running of Cormar’s carpet backing plant.  Daily duties include FLT Boom operation, operation of industrial equipment, operation of HMI controls screens for various processing areas, interpretation of and making decisions from process data in real time.   Other duties as from time to time directed by the Operations Supervisor.

Job involves: Mobility for full 8 hour shift, bending, occasional lifting of moderate weights, twisting, occasional climbing up and down steps.

• Contribute to the achievement of organisation and department goals through completion of daily duties to required standards
• Ensure product quality is to required standards
• Flexibly cover team and other duties as required
• Maintain agreed house-keeping standards

• Support the Operations Supervisor to deliver the above objectives

Skills / Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively within the team and in the wider organisation
• Knowledge of how the department works and how it fits in with the rest of the organisation
• Ability to work to agreed deadlines
• IT and administration skills commensurate with effectively fulfilling the role
• NVQ Level 2 in Business Improvement Techniques
