Are Caramel Tones Making A Comeback?

Dulux revealed in September that ‘Spiced Honey’ was its colour of the year for 2019. It’s a far cry from the abundance of greys that have dominated interior design over the past few years.

So - are we seeing a return to caramel tones?

Apparently, this contemporary hue is 'versatile, sophisticated and timeless'. Depending on the palettes and light surrounding it, it can be both calming and nourishing or stimulating and energising.

Here at Cormar, we agree it’s the perfect shade for creating a warm and cosy room. It complements richly pigmented shades such as terracotta’s and reds (two themes coming out of the Pantone Colour Trend report) but works well with neutrals too. It can easily be incorporated into flooring as well with shades such as Dunmore Creek from our Sensation Heathers range and Yardley Stone from Woodland Heather Twist.

As we eagerly await the 2019 Pantone colour of the year– due to be revealed in early December – we look forward to seeing more rich caramel and earthy browns take the spotlight in homes.
