UK Carpet Manufacturer Cormar Carpets help employees achieve their NVQ's
Not only are Cormar Carpets keen to offer the best in quality and service throughout its carpet collections, they also take pride in training its workforce to the highest standard.
With manufacturing businesses now accounting for only 10% of the country’s GDP it is encouraging to see Lancashire based Cormar Carpets continuing to invest in training for eighty employees at their Holme Mill and Brookhouse Mill manufacturing sites in Bury.
At the end of 2010 the company embarked upon a mission to ensure that each and every one of it’s operatives gained the next grade of the NVQ in Business Improvement Techniques. Taking part in various onsite projects in conjunction with Bury College, 64 employees gained NVQ level two and 16 attained NVQ level three.
Said Cormar’s manufacturing manager, Paul Murphy: “Cormar implemented the course to support personal development of its staff and every single member has done extremely well - we are very proud of their achievements. The scheme has really helped employees to take pride in their work, engage with the business and their improved knowledge will ultimately enhance the efficiency of our manufacturing plants.”
To celebrate passing their NVQ’s the 80-strong team of graduates enjoyed a three-course meal and entertainment at the Red Hall Hotel in Bury where funds raised have been split between local Bury and Ramsbottom charities.
All Cormar’s carpet ranges are produced to their highest standards at Cormar's Ramsbottom and Greenmount mills and distributed throughout Britain and Ireland using their own transport fleet. Over the years Cormar have consistently been awarded Flooring Supplier of the Year by two large Carpet and Flooring Independent Retail Groups ( AIS and Metro ) as well as winning ‘Best Customer Service’ award voted for by Interiors Monthly for two years running.
With visitor numbers up by over 9% from last year, the Cormar Carpets stand was bustling with retailers keen to view the latest carpet collections.
For the fourth time in succession, Cormar Carpets has been voted Best Carpet Manufacturer by readers of the trade publication Interiors Monthly.
Cormar Carpets has won the ‘Longstanding Support Award’ from Carpet Recycling UK for their strong commitment to carpet recycling and sustainability.
A Team from Cormar Carpets, PPS Commercials, DAF Trucks and CVL Ltd has completed “The Way of the Roses” bike ride, raising over £1200 for the Booth Centre charity in Manchester.
