Training for Carpet Retailers with Cormar
Cormar Carpets sponsors Flooring Guilds training course at their mills in Lancashire to train up their retailers in selling quality carpets
Independent carpet retailers are being given the chance to boost their sales skills thanks to Cormar Carpets. In association with the Flooring Guild, Cormar hosted a three day ‘Selling Quality Carpets’ training course, exclusively for its customers, at its factory in Bury, Lancashire.
Ten people, from carpet shops around the country, attended the course (28-30 September) led by Ray Morgan of the Flooring Guild, who has over 20 years experience in the carpet industry.
Content included understanding production methods, planning and estimating and an introduction to professional retail skills. Attendees were also given a chance to look around both Cormar’s Holme Mill and Brookhouse Mill production sites.
“By hosting the course we are actively encouraging retailers to invest in their business through training,” says David Cormack, marketing director of Cormar Carpets. “However for many carpet shops the time and cost element means that training isn’t always a priority. By sponsoring the course we gave those interested parties an opportunity to attend a very concise informative course for a small nominal fee. And feedback was extremely positive.”
