A Team from Cormar Carpets, PPS Commercials, DAF Trucks and CVL Ltd has completed “The Way of the Roses” bike ride, raising over £1200 for the Booth Centre charity in Manchester.

Setting off from Morecombe, the six man team comprising of Gary Mitchell and Craig Marshall from Cormar, Gary and Reece Amos of PPS Commercials, Paul Entwistle of DAF Trucks and Eric Burns of CVL Ltd completed the 170 mile charity bike ride in 3 days.

Day one began with an early start to rendezvous by the Eric Morecambe statue in Morecambe before embarking upon the first leg - a 44.5 mile route to Malham in the Yorkshire Dales. The second day saw the team set off from Malham to cover 74 miles to their second stop over in the beautiful city of York. Day three, the final leg was a 61 mile journey to the Bridlington coast.

Gary Mitchell who organised the charity bike ride commented, “All in all, the coast to coast challenge was difficult in parts but made all the more bearable by the beautiful scenery and the company of our associates, whilst at the same time raising money for a fantastic cause. I would like to say a sincere thank you to all our sponsors it is greatly appreciated.”

Money raised by the team, will now go to The Booth Centre whose team of volunteers work hard to supply vital support to the homeless people of Manchester including free nutritious meals, applications for jobs and accommodation as well as companionship.
