Title: Finance Manager
Reports to: Head of Finance
Based at: Brookhouse Mill
Job purpose: A newly created role to further strengthen the role of Finance in the business by taking ownership of the finance systems, processes, controls and reporting. Reporting to the Head of Finance and leading a small team, this role will be responsible for a range of duties including:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management:
- Managing a team of 5 (4 Direct Reports)
Financial Controls:
- Analysing, reviewing, and improving any financial controls
- Ensure all controls are documented and tested on a regular basis
- Ensure the business performance with agreed financial policies
Payroll:
- Ensure accurate and on time payment of payroll to all staff
- Maintenance of required records
- Delivery of tax year end process – P60 / P11d
- Respond in a timely manner to business queries
Management Accounts:
- Improving the flow and quality of financial information which is available
- Interpreting data and analysing results
- Providing ongoing and adhoc reports
- Developing new metrics and further develop the month end reporting pack
- Work with management to prioritise business and information needs
Statutory Accounts:
- Lead and manage the annual year end production of statutory accounts including an associated company
- Be the lead contact for audit matters
Statutory Taxes:
- Responsible for Corporation Tax, R&D claims, VAT, PSA, PAYE etc
Accounts Payable:
- Ensure the accurate and timely payment of suppliers in line with agreed terms and conditions
External Relationships:
- Liaising with external stakeholder – i.e. auditors, bank contacts, HMRC etc
Finance Systems:
- Ensure all Finance systems are fit for purpose and work with Head of Finance to identify and deliver the necessary change and improvements
Team Cormar:
- Adhere to and promote the Cormar Values
Other:
- Cover team duties as required
- Understand how own role and KPI’s impact on organisation and department objectives
- Support Head of Finance to deliver the above
Skills / Qualifications:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
- Able to demonstrate relevant experience of leading a team and adding value to Finance and the business, minimum 3-5 years PQE
- Commercially aware and able to speak to the business in ‘business language’
- Advanced excel user
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communicator
- The ability to adapt skills, to support and assist other work areas whenever necessary
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
- The candidate must be well presented, self motivated, conscientious, have a keen eye for detail and be inquisitive when reviewing data
- Ability to concentrate within a busy environment
- Experience of ERP in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable
