Train to Gain with Cormar Carpets
Cormar Carpets, has hit the spot again with independent carpet retailers after another successful carpet and flooring course conducted in association with the Flooring Guild – just one of the reasons why they are still one of UK’s leading carpet manufacturers.
Providing independent carpet retailers with the chance to boost their sales skills, the course, which is in its third year, was run by industry expert Ray Morgan of the Flooring Guild, the UK training and education centre for the carpet and flooring industry, who has over 20 years experience.
The three-day ‘Selling Quality Carpets’ event was held at Cormar’s offices at Brookhouse Mill in Bury, Lancashire from June 6 and brought 19 delegates from 13 different UK independent carpet shops together. The course included different modules including retail selling skills, planning & estimating and carpet product knowledge, demonstrated first hand by a tour of the Cormar Carpet’s production facilities at Brookhouse & Holme Mills.
Commenting on the course Richard Burton Smith of Islandwide Carpet in the Isle of Wight said: “Even though I have been in the carpet trade for 13 years, the amount of information I picked up was amazing”.
David Cormack, marketing director of Cormar Carpets said: “Ray Morgan of the Flooring Guild has great experience in running these carpet and flooring courses and every year we get really good feedback from the carpet shops and carpet retailers that attend the course. We also firmly believe that these courses help develop the skills that the retail trade needs – whether those delegates are newcomers to carpets or have been in the trade a while.”
