Carpet Manufacturer scoops 26 awards in 10 years

Leading UK carpet manufacturer, Cormar Carpets, is celebrating an awards treble, adding a trio of further accolades to its growing list of industry honours.

Recognising the carpet company’s high quality products, service and staff investment, Cormar has won the Metro Carpet Buying Group ‘Supplier of the Year’, Flooring One Carpet Buying Group ‘Supplier of the Year’ and Bury EST’S (Employment, Support and Training) ‘Employer of the Year’ awards. It brings the total number of awards achieved by the manufacturer in the past 10 years to 26.

Cormar was presented with the Metro Group’s ‘Supplier of the Year’ award by Metro Chairman – Martin Ward for the 12th consecutive year – an accomplishment no other carpet company has achieved before. The award was announced at the group’s annual AGM dinner held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham on Saturday 4th June.

Cormar Carpet’s marketing director, David Cormack, accepted the award on behalf of the company. He said: “Having worked closely with the Metro Group for over three decades it’s a great honour to receive this award for 12 years running. It recognises the efforts of everyone at the company in working so hard to maintain our high standards of service, quality and reliability.”

The Flooring One accolade was presented to Sales Manager - Roger Clarke, at the Carpet & Flooring Buying Group Trade Show held at Flooring One’s head office in Solihull. The award recognises first class delivery, performance, product quality, response to quality issues, communication, sales support and representation.

After working with Bury EST for eight years providing work experience for young adults with various disabilities or learning difficulties, Cormar was also presented with the ‘Employer of the Year’ award at a ceremony for Bury Local Authority Voluntary Work Sector at the Village Hotel in Bury on Thursday 2nd June.

Said Paul Murphy, Cormar’s Manufacturing Manager, who attended the event: “Allowing these individuals to actively participate in the work place can help give them the necessary self-confidence to make the leap from education to work life which most of us take for granted but can be a particularly daunting experience for those with learning difficulties.”

All Cormar carpet ranges are produced on site at their Lancashire mills and distributed in the UK and Eire via their own delivery fleet.
